Mold is one of the worst absolute threats that can invade any property. When allowed to grow, mold can quickly spread throughout your home or business. This can potentially lead to serious, life threatening illnesses, sometimes even having fatal consequences. If you live in the Bayonne area and have a building that is being attacked by mold, the Water Damage Bayonne team can help you out in every way possible!
Mold can crop up from a variety of sources. Often, mold is a by-product of a flood or other water damage that has occurred inside a property. Improper or incomplete drying is usually the culprit, though. That’s why we take extra care on a drying job to ensure that mold does not appear again at a later date.
You don’t always need to have experienced “water damage” for mold to appear though. For example, over the years, a simple thing like pipe condensation can cause mold. A leaking roof, trapped moisture, a damp basement, or a hundred other problems could also be the reason.
The key to eliminating any chance of mold is to find it and remove the problems. Then, make sure it doesn’t come back. We handle all phases of mold detection and removal, so you can be assured of your family’s health and well-being, or your businesses success etc.
1. You have visible mold growing on your structure and/or contents.
Usually this situation will not require testing other than to determine if any adjacent area is affected by cross contamination of the mold. For example, a basement covered in mold; we’d want to check if upstairs is contaminated also.
2. You have the odor of mold emanating from a crawl space or attic ect.
We would seek to examine the area for mold and if no obvious causes for the odor are found we would test the air quality for elevated mold.
3. Once the remediation (cleaning of mold) is complete.
This is when air quality testing is applied, post remediation, to determine the air quality and quantity of mold after a mold remediation cleanup. There is less concern for air quality in a garage, attic or crawl space (all of which are usually open to the outside air and are not air conditioned spaces) therefore air quality should be equal to the outside quality of air. Air in your "living space" is held to a much higher standard that the air outside.
